Martha Hunter Henderson is a partner in a strategies, marketing and communications firm specializing in developing and implementing strategic marketing and media relations plans. The firm has worked with a variety of governmental entities, private companies, and non-profit organizations. She previously served on the Board of the Sonoran Institute, as President of the Desert Botanical Garden Board of Trustees, Chairman of the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Board, the Board of Directors of the Combined Metropolitan Phoenix Arts and Sciences and the Phoenix Zoo. Other previous civic experience includes the Phoenix Arts Commission, United Way Special Gifts Chairman, Arizona Community Foundation, the City of Phoenix Bond Advisory Committee and Past President of the Junior League of Phoenix. She is a member of Valley Leadership, Charter 100 and the Board of Visitors. She is also a Trustee of the Desert Botanical Garden and serves on the Nominating and Research-Collections-Horticulture Committees. Hunter is a native Arizonan and a graduate of the University of Arizona. She was named 1998 Valley Leadership Woman of the Year and received the Xavier High School Alum of the Year Community Service Award in 2003.
